EMERGENCY/AFTER HOURS CARE
If you have a life-threatening situation such as prolonged crushing chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, or uncontrollable bleeding, call 911.
If you have an HMO and go to a hospital other than what your insurance requires, contact our Health Plan Office within 48 hours of the emergency visit.
Please do not seek medical treatment for non-life-threatening emergencies outside the clinic without prior authorization if you have HMO insurance. Otherwise, you may have to pay for the charges from the visit.
Emergencies always receive priority. Call our office, identify yourself, and relay the emergency situation to the operator. We will respond immediately.
When you call our offices before and after office hours, you reach our answering service. They will contact the doctor-on-call for you. It is important you turn off your telephone 'call blocking' so the doctor can reach you. Be sure to let the doctor know what insurance plan you have so he or she can direct your care within the plan's requirements.
