PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
Written prescriptions and refills are issued Monday through Friday during regular office hours. If you wish to have a prescription refilled, please contact your pharmacy, who will consult with your Practitioner's office for any further refills and/or instructions about your medication. Please allow at least 24 hours for your request to be processed. No medication refills will be authorized in the evenings or on weekends. If you contact your pharmacy for a refill on a weekend, please keep in mind your request will not be addressed until Monday. If your request is during a holiday, it will be addressed the following business day.
If you are in need of a written prescription, please contact your Healthcare Practitioner's message center, with the drug name, strength, and quantity desired. Your request will be dealt with by your Practitioner.
If your medications should require a Drug Prior Authorization from your insurance company, your Healthcare Practitioner may change your medication to a drug covered by your prescription benefit plan. If your Practitioner feels your medication is medically necessary and chooses to do a Drug Prior Authorization, please be aware that this process can take up to 72 hours or more. The response time varies with insurance companies depending on their review process.
If you are taking a narcotic for chronic pain, please know that Oregon Law may require your Practitioner to ask you to sign a Narcotic Contract and/or ask that you see a specialist for your condition prior to any refills. You may also be required to schedule follow up visits with your Practitioner every 3-6 months.
