Approach to Patient Care
My mother worked as a dietitian and instilled in me the importance of healthy eating and exercise, which are still two of the best forms of preventive medicine. As a provider, I am an advocate of empowering people to make everyday lifestyle choices that are conducive to well-being. I believe my patients are experts in their own experience and I look forward to listening, educating, encouraging, and consulting in collaboration with my patients.
Educational Background
My educational background started in pre-med and the humanities. After graduation, I worked as an EMT in Portland serving people with substance use disorders, and then in the emergency room in St. Louis, Missouri before starting my medical education as a PA in Maine. I am looking forward to establishing long-term relationships with my patients at Northwest Primary Care.
Personal Interests
I grew up in the mountains and rivers of Montana. I have lived in Oregon, Missouri, and Maine, but I feel most at home in the Pacific Northwest. Spending time in the mountains, forest, and ocean helps me feel grounded and connected to nature. In my free time I enjoy frequenting restaurants and food trucks, surfing, collecting vinyl records, hiking, trail running, drinking coffee, cooking, fixing up vintage bicycles, and spending time with my partner and our many plants.
