Matthew Moravec, MD
Philosophy of Care An insightful physician once told me that health in later years is a direct product of countless decisions we make on a daily basis. I want my patients to have the most healthy and meaningful lives that they are able. Whether this entails guiding an infant toward a future of good habits or helping an adult who has suffered several health complications toward recovery, I am passionate about partnering with my patients to define and achieve their goals. This is best facilitated when we can develop a long-term relationship. I will constantly strive to understand and discuss what is important to you and we will make medical decisions together to help keep you doing what you love. I enjoy seeing patients from all walks of life and am particularly passionate about pediatrics, adolescent medicine, geriatrics, LGBT health, chronic liver disease, nutritional counseling and preventive care.
I grew up in the countryside of Oregon and developed an early interest in physiology. I was also raised quite close to my medically complex grandparents and discovered a fondness for geriatric care. After briefly exploring California and the East Coast, I settled into medical school at Oregon Health and Sciences University and completed my residency at Providence Oregon Family Medicine Residency. I am excited to have joined Northwest Primary Care to continue serving Milwaukie and the greater Portland area. In my free time, I am a lover of foreign and eclectic cooking. Some of my previous experiments include hand-pulled Chinese noodles, Thai soups and pickling the numerous vegetables that I like to grow. I enjoy traveling throughout Asia, admiring mid-century architecture, kayaking, reading and hiking. You will also find me at various dog parks with my retired racing Greyhounds.
