NWPC Arrival Time Policy

At NWPC, one of our core values is providing patient care in a timely manner. In order to do so, we have implemented the following policy for patient appointment arrival time.

Patients must arrive to the clinic at their designated arrival time. Arrival time is 15 minutes before appointment time, assuming your appointment pre-visit has been completed via Phreesia. You will be informed of both your appointment time and arrival time upon scheduling your appointment.

If you arrive after your designated arrival time, we will be unable to see you that day and will need to reschedule your appointment, even if you have already completed your pre-visit.

What is the difference between appointment time and arrival time?

When you schedule an appointment with NWPC, we designate an appointment time. This refers to the time your provider is designated to see you.

We now also designate arrival time. This is 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. When you arrive at your designated arrival time, our staff has enough time to get you ready to see your provider. This includes bringing you back to an exam room, taking your vital signs, and gathering any extra information about your health status necessary for your provider to treat you.

If I arrive after my arrival time and my appointment is cancelled, will I be charged a cancellation or missed appointment fee? 

No, you will not be charged a fee if your appointment is cancelled due to late arrival.

Why was this policy created? 

When patients arrive after their designated arrival time, our care teams must cut into the time allotted for other patients or push appointments back in order to provide optimal care. This causes increased wait times and frustration for patients scheduled later in the day.

Can I still complete my pre-visit at the clinic if I don’t have a personal device, or otherwise need assistance?

Yes. If you have not completed your pre-visit, you will need to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time. If you have not completed your check-in and you arrive with less than 30 minutes until your appointment time, we will be unable to see you that day.

Are there any exceptions to this policy?

Yes, but the majority of appointments will follow this policy. If your appointment type is an exception to this policy, our scheduling team will inform you when you call to schedule your appointment.
