Recently, the Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. As you may have heard, after satisfying the requirement that the vaccine be deemed safe and effective, the vaccine is now in the first stages of availability. This is great news.
At this early stage the Centers for Disease Control is ensuring that the limited supplies are being directed to certain high-risk health care personnel, as well as residents and patients in long-term care facilities.
The vaccine is not available to the general public at this time. We are closely following the CDC recommendations and will let you know as soon as we are able to offer it to our patients.
Vaccinations are a vital step in saving lives and ending this pandemic. We encourage all of our patients to get vaccinated when they are eligible.
It is imperative to continue to wear your mask, wash/sanitize your hands, and keep a physical distance.
