Loss of bone density is a normal thing that occurs as we get older, but some of us experience bone loss at a more rapid or increased rate as a result of Osteoporosis. More than half of the U.S. adult population over the age of 50 have Osteoporosis, but most don’t notice that they have the disease until they break a bone. The best way to diagnose Osteoporosis is to perform a bone density test. These tests use special X-rays that can measure the density of minerals in your bones.
